It was a harsh breakup which left Jake in a great deal of pain and anger as he paced outside his  ex-girlfriend's house. She had found someone else, after he gave so much for her, even got her that ferret she  always wanted! She wanted another and he was ready to surprise her with one on the weekend after payday. but  this...This was unforgivable! He cursed and paced, punching the mailbox and drawing blood from his hand.

"Why....why did you do this? Sheela I don't understand, I gave you so much!" Jake said to himself, trying to fight  back the tears. "I should have known, I should have...hell that ferret gave me more affection than you ever have,  but still...DAMNIT!"

A lone figure leaned against a nearby tree, sipping tea from a cup, his triangular ears flickered a little  at the scene. "Such a pity...such a pity...breaking up is always hard, I'm sorry to learn of your misfortune my  friend."

Jake looked up and over at the odd figure, jumping back with a shock when he noticed the very out of place  anthromorphic canine leaning on the tree "What the hell?! I must really be in shock if I'm seeing talking dogs."

The figure shook his head and wagged a finger "Tsk tsk. I'm a coyote, not a dog...there's quite the  difference my friend! Do not worry, I mean no harm."

Jake stepped back a bit, trying to shake off the image. "Errr...Coyote, right, just a figment of my mind.  I'm going crazy...damnit I have no luck at all with girls!"

The coyote quirked a brow "No luck at all? I thought there was one that liked you quite a bit, if I'm not  mistaken? As for this one...many fish in the sea, or so they say. Is this quite common?"

Jake facepalmed, was he going crazy? At least he had someone to talk to even if he was. "Yeah...Every girl  I've run into has betrayed me, when I gave my all! It's like they are using me!"

The coyote gave a nod, sipping at his tea. "Tis a real shame I say, a young man with honest heart being used  like that. You simply need to find the right woman is all."

Jake snarled and punched the mailbox again "I thought Sheela was the right one! Damnit..I wish...I just  wish..."

The coyote perked his ears to this, jade green eyes peering at Jake "You wish what? One should be careful of  that, or you may just get it...but I am curious exactly what you are wishing for, perhaps I can help."

Jake laughed and slumped against the tree next to the coyote, tears falling from his eyes "Wishes?  Hah...What would I wish for? I want to be with Sheela, I want her to be happy...I wish I had a girl the treated me  right, that was loyal, loving, and didn't care about crap like riches and guys with bad attitudes!"

"To be with Sheela...but to have a girl like that? Hmm...troublesome...troublesome.." The coyote tapped his  muzzle.

"I just want her to be happy...and me too.." Jake sighed, his head drooping between his knees.

"Happy Sheela, partner who is loyal, caring, not caring about riches and monetary worth...is that correct?"  The coyote asked of Jake.

"Yeah...that's correct...that's what my wish would be." Jake said sadly.

The coyote grinned widely, snapping a finger "That is simple enough, I know just the thing! You'll find  happiness in no time."

Jake shook his head at what he thought was his mind playing tricks on him, granting wishes...this was  something he couldn't have, just like all the others. He sighed again, but a quick electric jolt shot him upright,  hair standing on end. "Wha...What the hell was that?"

The coyote chuckled, patting Jake on the head "I know the perfect one for you my friend..and that...that was  simply your wish coming to pass."

"Wish? What are you talking about? Who are you talking about?" Jake asked the coyote, scratching at his  ears...which was starting to grow out a big in size, rounded things slowly covering in a soft layer of fuzz.

The coyote wagged a finger, grinning wide and not saying a thing as Jake's ears continued to grow larger, a  sudden ache overcoming his spine and head, his spine cracking painfully in more than one place. Jake yelped in pain,  grabbing at his back only to find his arms a bit sore, not wishing to reach fully around to the source of his  backpain. He flicked his ears on reflex, moving to rub an arm...and discovering that they seemed to be pulling in  towards his body, much shorter than they should ever be. "W..what the hell?!"

Jake stood up in shock, looking at his shrinking arms. Something was definitely not right, first a talking  coyote and now this? He truly must be going insane! His fingertips hurt a little, drawing his attention in time to  witness the shift of fingernails to growing sharp claws, his thumbs staying put but pulling back a little, much like  his fingers. The bottoms were still pink, but he could swear that there was a layer of black hair growing on them,  which was slowly overtaking everything but his fingertips and palms, stopping at his wrists. Jake laughed to  himself, putting this off as some strange attack on his psyche from yet another breakup, his laughter shifting  higher in pitch and turning into an unusual chuckling, chittering noise.

He grabbed his mouth suddenly, wincing as he smacked a sensitive shifting nose and muzzle. He watched with  crossed eyes as his mouth and face pressed outwards into a sharp pointed muzzle, nose turning pink and wet. His  skull ached painfully as the muzzle grew out, pulling his head flatter and streamlined, no longer human in shape by  a long shot. This seemed to fit his ears just fine, which twitched as they took their place atop his head, covering  in white fuzz. Jake squeaked as panic began to set in, a black set of fuzz growing around his eyes and top of his  muzzle, forming into a bandit like mask and nose marking.

Jake looked over at the coyote, trying to demand an answer as he seemed to have been party to this event,  but the only noises that escaped his lips as his throat ached, were chittering, squeaks, and unusual cries. He  bared his teeth on reflex, letting his old human teeth fall away as new, sharp fangs and teeth took their place, his  tongue growing out longer within his new muzzle. His cries grew louder, echoing in the night as his panic hit at  full force, his shrinking arms covering in a tan colored fur, elbows shifting arrangement to something more suited  for a quadruped.

The coyote just kept grinning as Jake's legs began to crack, pulling in closer to his body and shrinking in  length, making is much harder for him to stand on two legs, and finally forcing him down onto all fours. This  resulted in a very loud series of cracks from his spine which grew in length, bending him over in a strange U shape  that no human should ever be capable of. He tried to stand but found it impossible for the moment, his feet  cracking, ankles shifting upwards to put him on his tip toes.

Jake shook his feet as they began their change, kicking off his shoes as if they were much too large for  him, which they were. He quickly noticed that he was shrinking, his shirt and shorts were barely on him, and his  shoes seemed almost clownish in proportion to his current state. He looked warily at his feet, the sock slipping off  as his toes shifted, large toe pulling down his foot and forming into a sort of pseudo thumb, the remaining one  pulling back in, their bottoms growing thick pink padding. He growled in frustration at this, watching his middle  two toes grow out in length, while the oute two pulled in...forming what even he could tell was a sort of paw,  toenails growing into small sharp claws.

He called out again at the coyote to no avail, his form growing a thick layer of fuzz, tan, cream, light  brown, a coloration he recognized very well. He cringed as his spine ached again, his form still shrinking yet his  spine remained as long as before, pulling out into a long appendage from his rump. This quickly covered in fur,  dotted by a black fuzzy end and helping with his balance, allowing him to stand wobbily on two legs once again. He  looked up at the ever growing coyote with fear and anger, wincing as his vision blurred and the last remnants of his  humanity, his blue eyes, shifted to an almost solid black. He cried out loudly as his shirt and shorts billowed up  around him, eventually covering him and throwing him into a world of darkness...

The coyote took a sip of his coffee and shook his head at the bundle of clothing and rather loud crying  ferret buried beneath the bundle. A light came on in the house as a young lady came to the window, looking outside.  The coyote grinned, patting the squirming bundle under the clothes before slipping off silently into the brush...

Sheela opened her front door and ventured out into her yard, drawn by the familar sounds of a ferret in  distress. The ferret her ex had given her was having a fit back in her room, and with this thing outside crying so  much there was no way she could sleep. She wandered over to the source of the sounds, a writhing thing underneath a  pile of clothing. Sheela shook her head, that good for nothing cheap boyfriend must have left these laying there,  what an immature prank, she thought. She lifted the clothing, letting a very confused and seemingly angry ferret  tumble out of them onto the ground. It looked up at her with the saddest, fearful look a ferret could ever give, a  look that could melt even her cold heart.

Sheela cooed to the small thing, reaching down and plucking it up by the scruff, which let it squeak and  chitter in protest. "Awwww...did he leave you out here all alone? Poor little thing...you're so cute!"

The ferret looked up at her and quickly grew silent, looking depressed and frightened. Sheela held him in her  arms, petting over his pelt gently, which seemed to calm to poor little critter. "There we go...well if he left you  out here he can't complain if I keep you anyways! Jake was such a loser anyways, he never wanted to do anything  worthwhile, and Bill has a motorcycle! If he thought you'd make up for his simplicity well he is DEAD wrong!"

The ferret growled a little at this, but it calmed quickly to the pettings. Sheela smiled and walked back  into her house, heading upstairs to her room. "That's fine though, I can give you a really nice home with a  playmate. She was really lonely, so this works out great."

The ferret gave a headtilt as he was plucked up by the scruff, Sheela opening a cage door and plopping the  confused mustelid inside, which drew the attention of another ferret that was hiding within, her head perking up  curiously...

Jake wobbled in confusion as he was plopped into the cage, quickly trying to scramble for the door, but  finding it quickly closed in his face, the latch closed tightly shut as Sheela walked away to chat online. He was  frustrated, Sheela seemed happy but at the same time she was still being the selfish ice queen she was before! It  was bad enough she had to act that way, but there was no doubt he was no longer human, and that coyote had to have  something to do with it! He pawed at the door, trying to figure out how to work the lock with his strange paws, not  seeming to notice the stalking shadow behind him.

Jake squeaked out loudly as something pinned him to the ground, another ferret standing atop him with  curious wide eyes. It was the ferret he had gotten Sheela, the female ferret that seemed to love him to death  whenever he was over. She sniffed at him and nibbled at his neck lovingly, the affection from when he was human  hadn't changed one bit. Did she recognize him somehow?

He tilted his head, pawing up at her as she made a long series of dooking, squeaking noises to him. Somehow  he understood these noises...compliments? Flirting? He was really confused about the ability to understand these,  and even moreso to feel..happy about receiving them? His instincts began to stir, and he leaned forwards to nibble  back at her, making her coo and dook contently. His tail began to sway a little, his stresses slowly fading...her  scent was wonderful, and she seemed to appreciate his presence. He shook his head once, trying to throw off the  unusual thoughts, but a quick nip and run from her set him off. Jake quickly rolled to all fours and gave chase,  dooking and squeaking as he pounced after her.

Sheela turned to watch the two ferrets at play, sighing and rolling her eyes. "At least he got her a  companion, maybe I should breed them and sell them online, hehe."

Jake heard this, but for some reason no longer cared as he settled in to sleep next to the jill. He wasn't  sure why this felt so right, so nice...he could tell she'd never betray him or hurt him, and he'd certainly do the  same for her. The two ferrets dozed off, dreaming of their future together and the family to come...

The coyote chuckled to himself outside, tossing the discarded clothing into a ripple in time space. The  young man was such a lonely fellow...but he had found someone perfect for him. It was another wish fulfilled, even  if not exactly what the man had intended. It really didn't matter in the end, for a wish to a coyote is always one  of chaos. The coyote finished his tea, and slipped slowly off into the night...
Another part of the coyote wishes series. I noticed a severe lack of mustelid transformations...and so this was born! Wrote late at night, so it may not be the best of qualities. There's another in the works, this time worked on with less half asleep attention!
